    Hey all,
So Ive digitized in DVC PRO HD in the DVCPRO HD 720P60 48khz codec and in the settings have made sure the REMOVE ADVANCED PULLDOWN AND/OR DUPLICATE FRAMES FROM FIREWIRE SOURCES command is checked.

This footage was shot in 24P. When i do this ALL clips are digitized in 23.98 fps (which is what i Want) but when I scrub through the clips they 1) go to 59 frames and 2) Random Frames get skipped when going frame by frame on the clip.

Why doesnt the clips go to 24 frames or 29 frames at least? Why 59??? The clips frame rate doesnt even say 59.94!

    Thanks

DVCPRO HD 720p is a 60 frame format. It is recorded to tape at 60fps. Even if you shot 24p, that 24p is embedded in a 60 frame signal. So when you capture and REMOVE PULLDOWN, you are removing the redundant frames. Thus you are losing frame numbers. Because they go all the way to 59, but you pulled some out, so it might go 1, 3, 5, 9, 12, 15.

THis is normal. Everything is all right.

Ok cool. Thanks! But I looked at some clips someone else digitized using the same format and the clips go to 29 frames not 59. Some frames still get removed but once it hit 29 frames it went back to 0. Meanwhile my digitize goes to 59 and then to 0.

Did they shoot 1080? 1080 will go to 29, 720 goes to 59.

Well the thing is, I am RE DIGITIZING some tapes someone else did on a DVC PRO deck that needs to be serviced. Whenever there would be a high exposed shot it would pixelate big time. When he digitized on his deck it was going to 29 frames. When I was digitizing directly from an HDX 900 camera it was going to 59 frames.
