  • Dvc Pro HD codec option not showing when exporting mxf

    Hi all,

I need to deliver a video following these settings:

    Format: MXF
    Profile: OP-1a
    Codec: DVCPRO HD
    Interlaced
    25fps
    Audio: 8 ch (1,2,3,4 are the full Mix, 5 and 6 Audiodescription, 7 and 8 M and E)

I have just downloaded latest version of Final Cut X Pro, 10.3.4 and was about to export the mxf file directly from the timeline,
but somehow the DVC Pro HD codec is not showing on the codec section, only the full ProRes family, AVC Intra 50, 100 and 200,
and XDCAM HD 35 and 50 mbps. Also I have installed latest version of Video Pro Formats. The thing is the codec is showing in
Compressor, but when I try to export the QT multitrack file with the audio channels configuration as requested, I only get
a mxf file with all 8 eight audio channels mixed into the first 1 and 2 channels, and then silence in channels 3,4,5,6,7 and 8.

So I am stuck here, a little help would be very much appreciated…

    Thanks

Not sure that’s directly supported in X. Have you tried doing this in Compressor?

DVCPro HD only allows ’50i’ encoding.

Make a new project with 1080 25i settings, copy and paste your current project in to the new Project, and then under the MXF master File settings, DVCPro HD becomes an option. Then you can configure your audio outputs with the appropriate Roles per channel/group.
