Boy am I at a loss this morning…

I recently upgraded to Tiger & FCP 5, and have had no problems until today. I’m trying to capture a few clips off of DVC50 via firewire for the first time since the upgrade, and I get the “device not found” disclaimer. It allows me to control the deck, but won’t pass the video signal through.

I rebooted from by backup drive (OS 10.3.7 and FCP 4.5)to see if it was something with the deck (Panasonic AJ-SD93) and it sees the deck just fine, and allows me to control, view, and capture.

I’ve re-checked all my settings and can’t figure out what I’m missing. I suppose I can capture using the old program, then reboot and edit in 5.0, but I’m at a loss as to where the hangup is.

I’ve been working with BetaSP all this week via my AJA io, and I had a session last week with DVCHD that was done via Firewire – all without any problems. Any helpful thoughts?

    Thanks

    Bob

no earthshattering revelations i’m afraid… but, just checking if you’d tried using the dvc50 “easy setup”?
theres been occasions with multiple users changing formats, tweaking this and that, and adjusting various settings, that the quickest way back to sanity has been reverting to an easy setup and going from there …. just a thought.

    cheers

Check this out also. Might be worth a try.

Josephine – Thanks! That did the trick. Seems there was a bit of a QuickTime conflict going on behind the scenes. Deleted the receipts for all versions per the link you gave me, reinstalled QT from the apple web site, and I’m back in business.

Once again, the Creative Cow Community saves the day.

    Thanks again
