DV Tape has lines across screen in beginning of tape
I’ve had issues with recently recorded tapes in my Sony TRV950. The first 30 seconds to a minute have about 4-5 large whitenoise style lines going horizontally across the image…these fat unrecognizable swaths burn off after time and the resulting images are fine, but for the first 30 secs the footage is completely unusable. I’ve tried capturing to see if it is just the playback LCD on the camera but the swaths are still there once imported. I’ve tried cleaning the head in the camera but to no avail. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? If so I’d be thrilled…and so would my friend who’s wedding footage I shot and thus cannot use the opening scene we wanted to. thanks

sounds like the heads were dirty when you started to record, have you tried the tape in another deck/camera if the problem is still there there would nothing you can do, time to get creative with a photo montage if the audio is okay.

sounds like the next step..checking through another deck. Good call. Have already envisioned the montage and it would be sub-par but would have to do.
