On a tip, I recaptured my DV project in FCP HD to uncompressed 8-bit in order to have more control over color correction and to have crisper titles. But when I did–using Media Manager to create a new project– I was surprised to find that my sequence needed rendering, even though both recaptured footage and sequence were set to unncompressed 8-bit. Thinking that it might be titles I’d created in the DV sequence, I removed them, but no luck. Strangely, I’ve found that, if I match frame and then re-edit some of the clips, they show up as NOT needing rendering. Others still do. Anyone have similar experiences… or advice?

    What capture card? IO? or?

Post the exact capture presets and sequence settings you are using for the uncompressed version…
