    Lots of odd things today:
    Im on mac 10.3.8 and QT 6.5.2 FCP 4.5 decklink base model 4.8.1 drivers .
    I have an “easy setup” blackmagic DV timeline with my video playback set to bmPAL dvDV The footage is also DV format, I thought it should playout to SDI in real time while editing but screen shows a freeze and updates when timeline stops.

    View > External Video > All frames
    then
    View > Video playback > Blackmagic 8bit PAL

    or NTSC as applicable
