DV Offset
Okay, this is an odd one.
I am working on a film shot on Super 16, transferred to HD 24p, then down converted to DV. The tapes have window burns.
I import the the telecine log into FCP 5.0.2, then batch capture. When I open the clips in Cinema Tools and click identify, the window burn TC does not match the values in the database. The Video and Sound TC in the window burn are 26 frames behind the values in the database.
If I tell FCP to offset by 26 frames, everything captures fine. The thing is, I am using DV decks. I shouldn’t need to offset.
I tried it on a Dual P G4 mac connected to a DSR 25, and a PowerBook G4 connected to a Sony mini-DV camera. Source tape is Sony DV.
Anyone have any ideas why I need to offset by 26 frames?
Thanks,
David
