I have a DVNTSC sequence made up of DVCAM material captured via firewire. I want to drop this sequence onto an 8-bit uncompressed timeline to add titles and graphics. I will then output to digibeta via a Kona card.

When I drop the DV sequence into the uncompressed timeline, does FCP, by default, stretch the 480 lines into 486 lines with all the resulting interpolation issues? Or is there a way to tell it to add 6 lines of black (2 at the top, 4 at the bottom I understand is best)?

If there is not a way to specify, what would be my best workflow to be sure those lines aren’t interpolated?
