DV footage from iMovie
I captured some footage in iMovie, and am trying to play in FCP.
It will not play in real time… the audio needs to be rendered. I have 5 hours of this stuff… anyone got advice for me?

Check the files in the FCP browser to see if they possibly came in at 32khz or 44.1khz, and if so, create a new timeline and change the sequence settings to match.
BTW, for the record, why did you capture using iMovie?

Imovie DV is proprietary – or at least, FCP sees it as having a 32-bit floating point audio bitrate.
I’d throw the footage through compressor to transcode the audio to 16-bit 48khz.
