I recently purchased Sony Vegas 8 and a plugin called NeatVideo that does major cleanup of bad quality video. What I am struggling with is the following and was hoping someone could give me some guidance.

I am working to turn this video into MPEG2 with Cinemacraft at the end to burn to DVD:

    1. Input VHS footage thru Canopus ADVC110 into firewire and saved as DV content with Vegas. Question: Is this content then interlaced?

    2. If interlaced, what should I have set in the project properties when I render it with the NeatVideo Plugin?

    3. GSpot tool says it is Top Field First, however I know this content should be lower. Is this a bug perhaps in that tool?

    4. Any reason I should convert it to Progressive?

    5. Can anyone take a 3 hour video and render it uncompressed? I have a 1.5TB drive and 30% into it the drive was almost full. Also seemed to take 3 times as long to re-render uncompressed as opposed to DV.

    6. When rendering this DV footage, is it best to keep it in DV format or something else? I have some lossless codecs installed but Vegas doesn’t seem to display them as an available render format.

Sorry for all the questions, however hopefully someone can help me on some or all of them.

    Thanks.
