I am having a problem capturing with my GY-HD100, The camera lets me puit a header on the tape BUT when I capture FCP stops and has to refind the timecode break at the point where the header stops. Also when it runs out of footage at the end it will sit and search for ever looking for something. These are on new tapes should I black them first?

Always, black your tapes. This establishes a time code that will be used for the life of the tape. Even brand new tapes. Some decks will allow you to get away without stripping the tape first, but it’s best to always put this in to practice.
