    Vegas-9pro

I’m only a wannabe user of vegas, relying mostly on Premier (CS4) But some things are a good deal faster in vegas.

I’m taking stills from nearly 100 short interviews. 1 still from each.

In vegas, saving a frame to still image is fast and painless using the `save’ icon in preview monitor.

But I’m noticing something I don’t remember seeing before. Evey clip I drag from media bin to timeline, is immediately seen as two pieces by Vegas. Seems like in the past I’ve had to do something to separate audio from video.

Where its causing grief right now, is just in getting rid of each media once I’ve extracted the still. Simply hitting delete after snapping the frame ends up having to come back for the audio too each time. So the clip is two pieces right from the start.

Is there a setting I’ve likely disturbed that might be causing such
    behavior?

You may have toggled Ignore Event Grouping (Ctrl+Shift+U) on. If so, toggle it off again.

    Yup… right on the money… thanks…

Oh, buy the way.. is there any kind of quoting mechanism in the message editor here? Or a convention concerning reply with copy of some or all of the previous message.?

    Like this?
Highlight the desired text in the original message and press Q.
Feel free to delete the poster’s name if desired.

The other way is to copy/paste the desired text and use the Bold, Italic & Underline symbols above the reply box after you highlight the text you want to modify.

Wow! I never knew that! I’ve been cut’in and paste’in all this time. (I do like to use Blockquote too) 😉

John, if you’re replying from this site, those instructions (and much more) are right above the Reply box.

Fine print being the operative word.
It’s almost as small as the print on a legal contract so I can see why it gets missed 🙂
