This is bugging me to no tomorrow…

Pulling via firewire off a CE camcorder. Camera records at 16/48 (and yes, I’ve double checked this.

My Easy set up is DV NTSC. I’ve made sure that the Capture Preset and the A/V Devices are all set to use 16/48.

My resulting clip is still giving my the repetitive clicking sound, exactly like it would if my sample rates were off.

    What gives?

Oh, I also tried changing everything to 16/32, just for the heck of it. No dice.

Item Properties on a single clip. What does the audio sample rate tell you? It should say 48khz.

Audio Sample rate on the Sequence. Is this also 48khz?

One of those is not matching the other. I would start there.

    Thanks for replying Walter.

That was one of the first things I checked; they do indeed match. I’ve also tried a new project from the one i digitized in with no luck. Also, while I’m watching this, I’m noticing that my video’s frame rate seems off; sort of “sped-up.”

The kicker is that I started this in iMovie; it was just my 2-year old playing the piano that I wanted to put on Facebook. iMovie kept giving me dropouts, so I figured I’d try FCP….

Sounds like the frame rate of the footage and the frame rate of the capture don’t match.

Had a very similar problem this weekend. I tried everything and this is what solved the issue for me…

In the clip settings tab in log and capture, turn off the audio preview.

Sounds ridiculous (like a major bug), but it worked for me.

Good luck and please let me know if this works for you.

Missed this last reply. I’ll bring my camera in to the office and give it a try tomorrow. Thanks!
