DV 4:3 on HDTV
Even though my more recent projects are all hdv/ProRes, to std def DVD, I recently got a request to edit some old dv 4:3 footage.
In case the clients view it on an HDTV, do you think most DVD players/HDTVs do a decent job of scaling it up to fill the screen without trashing the image?
I happened to see one of my old dv 4:3 ntsc projects a client was playing on their Sony Bravia HDTV and I was amazed at how good it looked scaled up to fill the screen.
From what you have seen, do you think it’s pretty common now that scaling is good, or could it end up looking like trash on some HDTVs? Anyone have experience with this?
