I am going to need to keep an HVX200 setup for a long period of time and when it is not being used, it will be on the tripod and exposed to dust.

    1. Any issues with using one of those cans of air spray to get rid of dust on parts of it?

    2. Any recommendations for a cover to keep dust off it? Just a sheet? Just curious what others do.

    Thanks.

Petrol, Kata and Porta-brace all make good covers. Good investment. Be careful because the HVX has a tape drive. You don’t want anything to get in there.

Also, canned air always randomly releases propellants that can really screw up electronics, can smudge your lens, eyepiece or LCD, etc. You really should avoid canned air with cameras. Use a Giottos Rocket Blower or a real compressor that only will output air and not propellent.
