    hello, anyway to fix in fcp5 during capturing footage, it shows it terribly, the quality is awful, of course after you digitize and drop it in the timeline it looks fine, but i’m wondering anywhere in fcp settings where you can change this… also there is a huge LATENCY in the video…

    so it seems it’s using quicktime but not the high quality setting, anyway to fix this?

    Nope. This is the way it is. That window is just a reverence window…a majority of the system resources are allocate to capturing the footage. Your captured footage looks fine, so what is your problem with this?

    Use an external monitor if you need to see it full quality…

    DV footage and IO footage always looks crisp to me. There’s latency and some strobing, but that’s all really. Maybe some minor softness, but it’s not like watching DV in QT without the high quality setting.
