Duplication problem
I’m using Encore cs4 for burning my Projects,My DVD burner is nec/sony optriac ad- 72400s dual layer oem, when I’m burning a project on regular dvd everything is working fine,it burns smooth and writing the lead out smooth,and our duplicator duplicates it just fine,my problem is when we r trying to burn dual layer, towards the end of the burning when it writes the lead out the softwear go into not responding mode and it take forever untile it finalizing the dvd, and we can’t duplicat the dvd,it works fine when we play it but when we triyng to duplicat it doesn’t work,we authourized an unlimited copy alowed,but the burning takes a realy long time and we can’t make copies on the duplicator,we usind DL R- blank media.
did anybody encounted such a problem? do i need to update my driver for the burner?if so i can’t find any updates beacuse it’s oem,please help.Gil. -

While I don’t have an answer to your particular issue, I can only recommend that you stay far away from dual layers.
They are widely used in Hollywood, but they are replicated, not duplicated. The consumer version has be quite unreliable for us. It actually worked in about half the players we tested them in.
It could have to do with the brand, the burner, etc., but I certainly am not the only one with this issue.

Thank u for your respond,so my next question is how to output a dv format in the highest resolution so if people will watch it on lcd’s they won’t get a vcr quality? I’m in the weddings industry and an average movie is 3.5 to 4 hours,we use to give them 4 dvd’s but they started to complain about the amount of cd’s,and we trying to save in the amount of ink and media that we spend for each movie,in average we give a client 7 copies that mean 28 dvd’s that we need to burn and print,and we were happy from the results that came out from the DL, BUT WE GOT STUCK WITH THE DUPLICATION.THANKS AGAIN,GIL.
