Duplicating Video Fx
Posted by Mark Prebonich on May 18, 2011 at 7:46 pmI have 2 events on the timeline that I would like to work with. I have added the warm color corrector to the first event and then adjusted the settings in the pop up window to make it not quite as warm. Am I able to put the same settings as the first event onto the second event so I do not have to retweak the pop up window, which I would not be able to perfectly duplicate? Thanks.

When your corrections are set, you can save it as a preset by typing a name you wish to call it and saving.

You can now access these same settings in the Video FX Tab, to click and drag:

Or load the settings in the colour correction plugin’s drop down list:

Hope this helps!

May 19, 2011 at 4:01 amHow about selecting ‘copy’ on the source event and then selecting ‘paste event attributes’ on the target event?

May 19, 2011 at 7:10 pmWatch out when using Paste Event Attributes though – you end up pasting more than the effects. Pan/Crop, the event switches and maybe more also get applied to the clip you paste to.
It’s probably better to save the FX as a preset and apply that to other events. If you have multiple FX that you want to copy, save them as an FX package (Save As on the plugin chooser window).
