  • Duplicating Complex Animated Power Windows Within a Grade?

We have scoured the manual and other resources but have not found a function to support this. Perhaps we are over looking some thing obvious?

After building a complex key-framed Powerwindow in a node how can we leverage this ‘work’ by using it as an animated Matte for other nodes within the SAME grade?
If the Powerwindow doesn’t have an ‘Outside’ node attached one can drag its alpha output and connect with another node but only once. (unlike an external matted that can be applied to multiple nodes)

Duplicating the node (via the gallery node tree) does not bring in the original tracking or keyframe data.

I guess what we are looking for is the reverse of the ‘keymixer node?

    Thoughts most appreciated.

    Regards,

    J

It’s my understanding that passing a node’s alpha channel to the next node inverts it, allowing you to add the “outside” grade so to speak. If you pass it on twice, it inverts back. So if you have 3 nodes, the first with your animated power window, the second will be inverse of that, and the third will have the same mask as your original power window.

    Will that work?
