    I can’t figure out what is going on here…hoping someone can help.

    When i duplicate this object (low poly chat bubble) and hide the original it no longer renders the same.

    I suspect it has to do with the “polygonal reduction” deformer as i have the same problem if i simply turn off/erase that deformer. I’m not sure why as i believe all of its settings are zeroed out.

    The polygon reduction deformer triangulates the mesh even with a strength of 0%. If you want the object without the polygon reduction deformer to appear the same as the one with the deformer at 0% I think you’ll have to triangulate the mesh.

    In R13 this is located here: Mesh > Commands > Triangulate
