  • Duplicate timecode from firestore?

    Hello all,

Well this is a new one on me. I came off a shoot were we had multiple camera’s and formats filming. Everything’s been going along smoothly, thanks to our good buddy Mr. Garchow, bringing things into FCP until I imported the latest folder that came from one of the firestores.

The general rule we were all following was to be running time of day TC and to try to start relatively at the same time. The offset was than calculated by a gong that was being hit on camera. Yes, no clapper an actual gong. How’s that for old school.

Here’s what I’m being presented with.

The folder has 14 clips in it.
Of the 14 clips 12 end with the same time code.
The remaining 2 end with matching timecode.

I’ve tried to reimport a few times but it always shows up the same so I’m guessing that what I’m seeing is the timecode that was laid down but have no idea how this possible. All the other folders that have been dragged over from the firestore seem to be great. Just this one.

Any suggestions. Some of the Programs I’m using to automatically line things up and help me form multiclips in FCP need the original timecode. I’ve also posted this on the Firestore forum but figured I would attack it from two directions.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rich Sims

you can modify the TC of these clips to use them in the multiclip sequence. The downside to this is you may have problems if you need to recapture from your Firestore backup.

Look under the “Modify” menu if you want to change the TC. You’ll have an option to modify the original or auxiliary TC.

    Thanks Arnie,

From the looks of it I think it’s going to be a manual line up since there’s only fourteen clips. Could be a lot worse I guess. I grown to see many peoples frustration with the firestore process. I knew I was using P2s for some reason.

    Thanks,
    Rich
