I have found that I have two master clips named exactly the same thing 0001UZ and 00106N.
This was shot with my camera, and my P2store,
What the heck is up with this? I had to move some media around, and then when I went to relink they are different lengths.
Thankfully, I copy everything into FCP, then I make an exacty copy of those files on a seperate drive, that way they will relink up, and sure enough when I go to the back up drive to add the newly shot marterial, it askes if I want to replace the files, as they are duplicates.

I know everyone post on here about saving the orginal MXF files. I don’t have the time to make another back up of that, and really what is the difference of having a dupilcate quicktime? I am not goign to online on some other system, So a digital file is digital.
I don’t want to get into some arguement about how to back this material up.
For me, shooting, then importing, then backup those quicktimes, so that I could easily relink if the working drive died, I don’t every change the masterclips names, I just use a new column in FCP for the descripitions,

Anway, WTF? I thought it was impossible to have duplicate file names?
    This is not good

It isn’t impossible, just unlikely. BTW, it’s happened to me as well.

If you have the latest version of FCP, here’s the solution: after ingesting the clips (Browser/Import/Panasonic P2), select all the clips in the Import window and delete them there. Once done, you will find that the next time you shoot with that card, the new clips will be numbered continuing at the place where the last clips left off. In other words, if the card’s clips were numbered 0001XX ~ 0023XX, the next time you use the card, the new clips will start at 0024XX.

    Hope this helps.
