I wonder if this is due to the reel names being the same?

Yes the reel names are the same. ie they are the name of the folder they were ingested from. The only thing different is the file name which seems to be unique.

That’s why. Duplicate frames detection works by looking for two frames in a sequence with the same timecode and the same reel. It does not consider the filename.

You can change the reels or TC manually for each clip in FCP, or you can use VideoToolShed QtChange [link]. It can batch change the reel names of your clips to include the filename. Then dupe detection should work as expected.

HI,

Another issue Ive found is in the logging as captured.
In clip properties chose ‘Logging Info’ you will find a coloumn called ‘Capture’ and all your clips will be marked ‘Not Yet’
Control click “NOT YET’ and change them all to ‘OK’.
This will tell FCP all your clips have been captured and your Duplicate Frame Detection will now work.
