I am using the HPX301. I do my card backups on WINDOWS hard drives. I noticed that in several card backups the same file name is used. How is it possible to get unique filenames that never will be used again? Can I change a PreSet for the filenames that adds the recording date and time to the file name?

Each clip has a uuid in metadata (aka Global Clip ID). So even if the MXF file names can sometimes repeat, but it shouldn’t screw you up too much as your NLE will read the proper info to reconnect.

    Hi Jeremy,

thanks. That will help me to have a good night rest!
But is there a way to change the filenames? Adding date and time?

No, do not alter the structure of the MXf files. you can add custom names to metadata, which can be used or not depending on your NLE.

Also, if you camera’s date and time is set properly, that info is stored in metadata as well.
