What’s the purpose for duplicating the audio track for a clip. I know it does raise the volume a little. But is there another reason for doing so?
    Thanks, Gary

If you have a stereo track and you want left out both speakers and right out both speakers and need to control the volume individually, it is necessary to duplicate the audio track. Otherwise… what prompts the question?

I have two vx2100’s with beachtexs for two mics. I always have trouble getting enough volume in my shot gun mic because my wireless is so loud and powerful even though i have it turned way down and shot gun full blast. So when i go to edit i only have one speaker/channel to work with . So i end up panning the volume all the way to one side.
I thought maybe i could take the one mic sound and use it for both right and left channels to make stereo? I’m thinking about using two wireless mics on one camera. I need more audio training……thanks for the help………..Gary

Ok, just duplicate the audio, right-click one and change the channels to “Left Only” then right-click the other and change it to “Right Only”.

Choosing “Left Only” will play only the left side out both speakers giving you exactly what you’re asking for. Excalibur has a tool called “Stereo Split” which will do all of that for you.
