Duotone Craziness
I don’t get duotones. I’m in the middle of designing a two-color brochure, so naturally I’m trying to piece everything together within Photoshop’s duotones. Thing is, the pantone colors I’ve chosen within the duotone options (a vibrant green + black) doesn’t look anything like the colors that show up in my original document (a dull, washed out green + black). What’s going on??? How do I get that vibrant green color back?

To print a mock up for your client, create a copy of your duotone file and convert it to cmyk. You’ll get a nice print from that. The color printers I’ve worked with could never process the duotone eps file very well.
Be sure to use your duotone file for the printer though.
Unfortunately, this is the only way I know to proof your colors

This is only the second time I’ve done a two-color job in the last four years. Not my favorite, that’s for sure.
