The following project was shot entirely on a new iPhone. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Now, if the the phone would only work better, and they’d fix that new antenna…

Would like to see more about the editing process on the iphone; the glimpses in that sample were tantalizing.

    Great short, thanks!

What’s wrong with your iPhone 4?

Mine works great: everything is way faster, the Retina display is jawdroppingly sharp and pleasant, the cameras are very good, and I don’t feel a burning urge to hold the phone by the lower left corner (if I did, I’d get a barely noticeable Belkin Grip Vue wraparound case that fixes the problem).

Note that for the cameras (still and video) you point to whatever you want to be in focus and exposure-optimized. A rectangle blinks briefly to show the location, and you can actually see the focusing and exposure adjustment happening.

Very cool, now we just need an Ansel Adams Zone System app and a Macbeth auto-adjust app!

And I trust the first 4-slot matte boxes for the iPhone 4 are already out, together with nodal gear heads with a rubberized clip-on camera holder.

No need for double sound as there are already apps and accessories for hooking up your Sound Devices 552 or other mixer.

Follow-focus is already available via finger press on the screen, but a radio-controlled motorized finger could prevent any camera shake for those using cheap gear heads.

Nothing wrong with the antenna. Steve said so.

You’re holding it wrong. All 600,000 of you, stop holding like we show you in the ads. Hold it correctly. Now.

The guy that made the train video was still using all manner of full size grip gear. Does he not know about Zacuto? 🙂

iphone video shooting and editing could be great for ENG work. I wonder though, if the train movie folks used dual-system sound, or did they count only on the built-in mic on the iPhone?

Absolutely for those “on the spot” cell phone recordings on the news. CNN has the “iReport” page and the phone is well suited for breaking news.
