Have interviews to edit in CS5 Windows that were shot on a Sony EX1. Unfortunately, they were offloaded in Final Cut Pro and rewrapped as Quicktime files which simply will not work in windows. (have tried every suggested free solution w/ no luck.)

My question: Someone with a MAC & FCP is willing to transcode all the files, but what codec should they transcode it too?

Want to retain quality, but don’t have the hardware muscle to work uncompressed. Need to have a “master” of these files that I can edit for DVD-based output — but also need give the non-profit organization clips for someone to excerpt and post on their website using windows movie maker.

Thanks in advance! If this project had a budget, I wouldn’t be pretending to be an editor.

Have you tried Apple’s ProRes converter?

And this would probably be better in the Premiere Pro forum.
