Ok, so I edited some stuff a year ago.
Got new headphones in, and randomly selected this stuff to listen too.
Well I couldn’t hear some of the scenes.
    people sounded completely muffled out.
Doesn’t sound like this on my dvd player.
So I grabbed a random bite from the file,
I’ll include 2 links to the files.
Sharp (original not edited (except for trimming))

Dull (don’t remember what all I did to this one, was playing with 5.1
    surround sound).

I did not hear it like this when I did it, I heard it clear. (I’ve formatted and reinstalled everything since then).
So now I’m a little concerned about what this sounds like to other people.
it was for a short I did

I can’t get it to sound “dull” on all my computers, it sounds fine on all, except the one I do my video/audio editing on.
So if anyone can hear the dull sound, and / or know why I hear it (almost like it was on another channel and barely bleeding through). but not on every system. I don’t really understand how it sounds like that, the wave form is there. I tried my old headphones too, same dull sound.
    Thanks again everyone!

I took a look at both files in Spectral Frequency View and with the Frequency Analysis panel open. It looks like the original, sharp file contains a true stereo signal, with different signals in each channel. The dull file is completely mono. The dullness could very well be introduced by this change or potential phase issues, depending on the operations applied, canceling out some of the unique signals in each channel.
