    Hi there!

I’m attempting to create a rig for a biped using Duik and the puppet tool in AE CS6. The problem I’m running into is that after I’ve finished the rig on the one arm, I’ll go to create a bone on the next one and the bone from the first arm with cling to its corresponding bone on the second. I’ve attached a screenshot using two small solids so you can see what I mean.

Do I have to have each puppetted limb pre-composed with its controllers and bones separate from the main character? (note, I tried pre-composing and leaving all the attributes in the comp seen here, but that didn’t work either. Only seems to work if I completely precompose).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you rename the pin points from the puppet tool before creating the bone? You need to do that or else when you go to the the next layer and use the puppet tool, it will create points with the same name and everything will get all wonky.

    “|_ (°_0) _|”

    Sincerely,

    George

I did not! I’m willing to be that’s exactly what’s going on here.

Thanks! Will try renaming and let you know if it’s still being wonky.

That did it! Started acting wonky at first, but I just created a new solid with unique pin names and it’s all peaches and cream now.

    Thanks again for you help!
