I am thinking about getting a DuelAdapter for an upcoming shoot in Honduras. I’m thinking that I will have limited time to download my cards and have heard that the adapter is faster then using the camera and firewire, plus it frees up the camera so that batteries can be charging.

Anyway, I have read that Leopard does not require drivers for the DA. Am I correct?

Also, did Leopard fix the restart the mac before you can insert the DA issue? Not a deal breaker, just more curious than anything.

    Thanks

I have been using the adapter with Leopard and no major problems. One thing that happens a lot is when I eject the card’s mounted drive the adapter itself is turned off, but all I need to do is to remove the adapter and reinsert and it works. No restart needed.

It does a great job transferring but I have had to restart the Mac before I insert the DA. I can transfer as many cards as I want but once I eject the DA, it will not recognize it unless I reboot. I did not have this problem in the last OS. It truly was hot-swappable. Does anyone know what the fix is for this?

I have had no luck using the Duel with Leopard and I know several others with the same issue.

Seems that if you had the DA running under Tiger (10.4) and upgrade to Leopard, then it will work.

I did a clean install of Leopard and could not make the Duel adapter work.

I fact, Leopard has been quirky enough to make me go back to Tiger.

was this a fresh version of leopard or did you upgrade? I can’t get mine to even recognize that it is inserted. I have a fresh install of Leopard.
