This was sent to me today by Panasonic.

my question is there will Eventually be a driver for us to use our duel adapters with snow leopard and our macbook pros right?? This statement makes it sound like it will never come out.

Can’t imagine they won’t have a driver and some point. Kind of hard to sell an item that doesn’t work.

And don’t update until they come out. There is NO REASON that you need to right away anyway.

    I got this today…

“The DuelAdapter is no longer supported under the 10.6 Snow Leopard Operating System. Apple has excluded key features to make our drivers functional, please feel free to contact Apple if you have any complaints or questions based on their decision to stop their DuelDriver support.

Thank you for contacting the DuelAdapter email support.
    Ryan”

Seems odd to me that Apple would need to make a driver for a 3rd party product. Looks like you’ll need to stay with Leopard if you want the thing to work. Maybe Duel Systems should change their site and tell people it’s not supported in snow leopard.

Something fishy is going on. It makes no sense Duel can’t write the driver for their product. My Duel has worked very well with Tiger and I’ve never upgraded as I use the MBP only for field off-load of P2.

I just upgraded to SN on my MPB and haven’t tried Duel yet, but I also have a bus powered FW drive with Leopard on it to run some older apps. I have FCP 6 on the Leopard partition. I guess I will have to restart to ingest.

Maybe that can be an option. For about 200 bucks (drive and enclosure – https://oyendigital.com/hard-drives/store/EB2-S.html), I upgraded my MBP drive to 500GB 7200RM and took the 320 GB drive and slapped it into a bus powered FW800/estata enclosure.

I agree SN is making life rough while using some older apps, but we all knew this would eventually come. Thank God SN isn’t a the bizzaro world equivalent to Vista.
