    Hello Everyone..

We normally do Tv spots x DR, and have to master same spot with multiple phone #, our last project was a long form 28:30 infomercial, that the client what to dub with 50 phone #’s, so like to ask if someone have a good workflow to share in order to avoid multiples renders..

Here is what we have and normally do.

Finalize cut and flatten on a 480i Uncompress 10bits quicktime
Create one sequence with the master QT, and add a 2nd layer with a png+alpha with the phone #
FCP preview without rendering (green bar) but if when edit to tape, star render all spot.
If we do the math, for 50 spots of 28:30 it will take days to master, so need a better workflow.
We also try to use the text tool to add the phone #, but same result.

Our systems have very similar config:
Intel Quad 2.5mhz, with 16M Ram, Kona 3, FCPS 3 Os. 10.5.8, mastering to Digibetas

We also considering use a Dub house , but like to try it first, so any direction is very welcome..

You have a Kona 3. Why not use the built in hardware realtime downstream keyer for the phone number?

The problem is that we have fades in and out during the program…

Seams that if we go over 8 bit’s it wont need to render… I’ll keep trying

    Thanks
