Dual display gone nuts
A few weeks ago I changed my two CRT displays to 1280×1024 resolutions so that I could see more on my screens. I then decided to change them back to the less resolutions so my eyes wouldn’t have to strain so much and I am having problems with my left monitor when it starts up. I am not sure if the problem is the refresh rate or the resolution. I set the left display to 1024×768 with a refresh rate of 85 hertz and the right to 1024×768, 85 hertz. I have a kvm swith on the right monitor that is connected to my Mac and to a PC. It has been this way for over a year and never had any problems. Now when I have both monitors set to the Mac and I startup the left monitor goes whacko with the screen full of horizontal lines from bottom to top. I reset the P-ROM and it reset the left monitor but the right monitor had to be turned off. If I restarted with the dual monitors on the left monitor would go back to the horizontal lines again. I did find that if I turned the right monitor off and restarted the left monitor would start normally and then I had to turn the right monitor back on to the Mac.
Is the refresh rate set correctly? Should it be 60, 75 or 96 hz?
