Ok, I scored on the crossgrade to FC Studio. I now have the 5.1 universal FCP. Question: Imac now, or wait for a tower (ala G5)? Issues: HD video ingest to external drive using FW-400. Second monitor? Does the Imac just provide video for a second monitor in mirror mode only? Thanks in advance for any comments.

You don’t want to do HD, even DVCPro HD on FW400. If you are doing HD, you’ll probably want a capture card, thus either get a Quad now or wait until the Intels come out.
