Please, let us (me) know how that goes. My laptop is dire need of an upgrade, but I am waiting…waiting…waiting.

I’m also very anxious to see if the preformance is that much different. Please let us know once you have tested it out…

I’m thinking of getting a new mac mini to run FCP5.

If only things like Photoshop and AE were going Universal Binary anytime in the next year or so. 🙂
I’ve read tests of PS using Rosetta, not very pretty.
I guess I could use a new MacBook for FCP, and use my G5 for Photoshop and AE.

What are you doing with Photoshop? I color-correct photos, work with text layers, and make multiple photo layers. Things like DVD box cover designs.

I haven’t had any problem using it for those purposes under Rosetta. Maybe I’m not using the “cloud render” filter enough or something but I’ve yet to run into any real-world problems with it.

…or you could install WinXP and run Photoshop in there…apparently it’s the fastest Windows XP notebook available 🙂

Interesting and annoying that AE filters won’t work with the Intel FCP 🙁

Yes, I noticed that too. Does that mean forever or just until the plug ins are updated for intel?
