  dsr-25 not seen by Avid?

  I have Avid Xpress Pro (academic) and a DSR-25. The deck is properly connected to the system and Adobe Premiere Pro sees it and works with it just fine. Avid, however, won’t recognize the deck. I set up a deck configuration to go from OHCI -> Sony DSR-25, but when I click “check decks” avid still doesn’t see the deck. What could be wrong? I am used to aggravating Avid firewire problems on Macintosh, but this is my first time trying to get Avid to work on a PC.
