I work on an avid adrenaline 2.1.3, and always have trouble with DV digitising. I cant find this deck (Sony DSR-11)in the list, and have to crash record everytime. Is there no more generic sony DV device setting? As well, when I crash record, it always has a delay of say 5 seconds before it starts recording, which makes things even harder. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

I believe the DSR-11 is just a player/recorder, not an editor, so crash recording is all it can do.

I have a great suggestion. Buy a professional VTR, like a DSR-1800, a DSR-2000, or a used DSR-80. The DSR-11 is a piece of crap, and has caused grief like you are having, to everyone that has ever owned it. This same grief is currently happening with the Sony HDV HVRM series, and we all await for a professional HDV VTR to come out, and stop this nonsense.

This machine is great for FCP, but not for Avid. It lacks RS-422 deck control that Avid craves. FCP can control the deck via firewire and does just fine. But Avid…Bob is right, get yourself an 1800 or other larger controllable deck.
