Check the data rate of your videos – I think you will find it is super high. Data rate is listed as either Kbps or Mbps.

What is “super high” ? I am new to this.
Also should i transcode the footage before playing with colors in AE ? What do you do step by step ?

What is your deliverable? What are you exporting to?

To bring into an edit after CC in AE?
YouTube?
PowerPoint?
DVD?
Bluray?
ThumbDrive?
Archive?
Vimeo?

Don’t transcode b/4 CC.

Vimeo i guess. But really just trying to keep the quality as high as possible – but without having a huge file, when i play the exported movie it is very lacky because of the file size.

Also when i import my video clips to AF and add some effects layers i get problem previewing them. Should i transcode or somehow make them smaller before editing/colorgrading as it is a very slow process ?

I got a fast pc :/
