DSLR .mov files have no video
I received a bunch of .mov files on a mac formatted drive. I was able to mount the drive and copy the files to my PC using the utility Macdrive.
Vegas 10 can only see the audio, no video. Updated Quicktime player opens the file but there’s only audio, no video. When I try to add a file to Cineform NeoScene to convert, I get the error message that the format is not supported.
The camera is a DSLR, the Panasonic GH2. She records onto an Optima SDHC HD card and imports the files to a mac computer using Final Cut Pro’s Log and Transfer tool, which then converts them into .mov Quicktime files.
I’m thinking I might need to import the files using her camera into Cineform on my PC. It would be easier if I could either convert these mov files into something I can use or have her export them from FCP in a format I can use. I want the highest quality as we are doing these tests for a possible feature length piece.
Your expert advice is, as always, much appreciated.
