DSK realtime video from FCP
Hello!
I’m looking to purchase a card that will do this.
Having searched and located various threads relating to realtime playout of QT fill & key video, I came to the conclusion that with the Kona3 it is not possible. Is my assumption correct?
The threads I looked at dated back to 2006 (four years!) – has anything been developed recently, or can anyone shed any light on how it’s possible to playout a fill and key QT movie from FCP? Other cards on the market?

I’m off on an OB covering a live sports event, and I want to prep lots of motion graphics in AE, and drop text on top in FCP as the event progresses, then playout both streams (fill and key) to the video mixer.
Only I put this scenario to Aja Support, and they were less than unequivocal in their response… quote ‘Yes, you can do it within Aja TV, but I’m not 100% sure about FCP’.
You are absolutely 100% sure?

You can use the ‘graphic over frame buffer’ option in the control panel out of FCP.
It works just great, text must be rendered 8 bit, as 16 doesn’t work:
Make sure you have the latest drivers (7.5.1).
