dropping text
Posted by John Barber on February 29, 2008 at 7:46 pmCan anyone help me?
I would like to make my home page title “drop” onto the page and I found a javascript version to do that, but it doesn’t work with IE7. Can this be done in After effects?
I used Dreamweaver CS3 to build the site.John Barber replied 18 years, 6 months ago 2 Members · 4 Replies -

March 1, 2008 at 3:27 amIt’s not going to happen without scripting of some kind. Plain-vanilla HTML has no capability to (in effect) drop an image from behind the page – through a hidden slot – and then appear in a container cell.
Use AE if you wish, and create a title to export to Flash and change the Flash scripting to fade in (or just run) your image or image sequence inside of a cell along with some Javascript scripting to handle the when’s and conditions.

March 1, 2008 at 3:32 amYou can also use an animated gif for this venture which can be created in a number of different graphics apps like Photoshp or PS Elements but you’ll still need scripting to trigger the event when you desire for it to happen.

March 1, 2008 at 3:26 pmAh,
Just thought of something this morning. Make an animated gif with the top layer the same color as your background, give it enough of a delay to load the rest of the page content, then image #2 or whatever after. Play once only.HTH
