Dropping Frames In Playback
I feel like once I’ve asked this I’ll feel like an idiot. BUT I’m currently getting a Dropped Frames warning whilst watching back my sequence (mostly when I have two layers of video, but not always!) this is the warning
“Warning – Dropped Frames
One or more frames were dropped during playback.If this occurs frequently, try:
– Turning off “Unlimited RT”
– Lowering your compression data rate
– Closing open sequences
– Lowerinf the preference for real-time audio tracks
– Increasing the speed of your system and/or disk drives and/or network connection”I’m still quite new to this and have no idea how to go about it

Hi Rachel,
There are millions of reasons FC may drop frames but that won’t change your final output.
Uncheck “Warning next time”, and forget about.

On what drive are you storing your media and render files? If your answer is the internal system drive, that may be your problem. To ensure the best performance for playback, use dedicated storage for media and render files. This could either be a separate internal drive (if using a tower), or an external drive with a FireWire, Thunderbolt or eSATA interface. Do not use USB drives for video storage.
