Dropping Frames
Posted by Anotheruser on April 5, 2006 at 8:39 pmHello again.
I am dropping frames when attempting to capture analog camcorder output via firewire Adaptec card. I’m very frustrated. I disabled still image capture, defrag’d the secondary drive I’m using to capture, closed all other programs, etc etc etc.. but still dropping frames.
Help?

April 5, 2006 at 8:59 pmI just mean I have a camcorder hooked up to DVMC-DA2 device which is feeding an Adaptec Firewire card. it’s a Duo Connect.
Yes, DMA is enabled on all my drives by default.

April 5, 2006 at 9:30 pmOK I checked it out and I’m in compliance with everything they show there…. now I’m wondering if i’ve got some chipset issue or other BS thing I’m going to have to deal with… sigh… this is such a MAJOR pain.. this is why i have put off capturing for so long..
What are my other options? Are there any other proven, effective, reliable means of capturing in existence??

April 5, 2006 at 9:39 pmMake sure that deck control is disabled, so Vegas Capture knows that you will be starting and stopping the camera manually.
