  • dropped frames realted to HP lcd monitor?

Posted by Peter Ralph on May 27, 2005 at 1:27 pm

In 4.5 I had a problem with FCP reporting dropped frames quite often when the canvas was open on the console monitor, an HP 23″ lcd. Moving the canvas to the second (CRT) monitor fixed the problem.

Upgraded to FCP5 and now I get consistent dropped frames if the timeline is on the HP lcd. Problem disappears if I move the timeline to the CRT.

    Any ideas?

Do you have the vector scopes open? If so they can cause dropped frames at random.

no I dont have the vectorscopes open – this is not random, 100% consistent with the timeline on the lcd monitor – I suspect the problem is connected to the 64mb card as Jerry hinted.
