    Hi,
For some reason we started getting dropped frames in the trim edit window today. It’s only happening in the trim edit window, not the timeline or viewer. This hasn’t been an issue for three months and suddenly today it started acting up. I’ve trashed preferences and restarted the system with no luck. There is only one timeline open with two tracks of audio. RT is set to Safe. We’re on a dual 2.5 G5 with 8GB RAM. The media (DVCPro HD) is on a dual Fiber Channel Huge MediaVault, so that should be fast enough. Now two variables come into play here. We upgraded the firmware on the MediaVault and upgraded from 6GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Could either of these upgrades be causing the dropped frames?
    Thanks,
    Brent

First law of troubleshooting…. start with the easy stuff.

You could easily test the drive throughput with a drive test utility. Next I’d pull the new RAM, just for fun, and see what happens.

Have you tried to see if you drop frames when capturing or printing to tape?
