  • Dropped frames during playback of Sequence

I know this maybe a simple and dumb question but please indulge me. I have a new Mac Pro 8-Core 2GB ram and FCS 2. When I am playing back a simple sequence it drops frames at the transitions. These are the first two projects that I have worked on since getting the system set-up this last weekend and I have turned off unlimited RT even though I don’t think it should have been an issues on just transitions. Any help on this simple question would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No one can answer this unless you tell what kind of drive(s) your media is on, and what kind of media.

    Have a wonderful day.

Sorry. It is standard DV footage that is on the internal drive of the mac.

Your media should not be on your system drive. You have 3 extra bays in there, it would take you about 5 minutes to put 3 drives in and stripe them as a RAID, from which it would never drop frames with DV.

    Have a wonderful day.
