Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Dropped Frames

I’m new to FCP but I’m running through some footage which comes with the FCP 101 course book and I’ve added a video effect to some footage but when playing the footage back it giving me a Warning – dropped frames message. I’m using a MacBook Pro 2.53GHz with 4GB, are there any settings I can change to playback the footage for viewing?

    Thanks!

Did you copy the files off the DVD?
If you did, did you copy them to the system drive or another drive?
If they were copied to another drive then how is that drive conected and formatted?

You can render your sequence prior to playing it back. Also go into your RT settings (drop down menu at left of Timeline) and set it to Unlimited / Dynamic frame rate / Dynamic playback
