This weekend, I dropped my Sony VX2000 from pretty high up. It still works but makes a funky noise and the LCD screen door is loose. Does anyone know a GOOD repair shop that knows what their doing? I never had to deal with this before. Any help would be great!!

    Thanks

    Happy holidays!

SONY should have a list of authorized service centers closest to you for your camera. Your insurance may cover the repairs or replacement minus the deduction.

    Cheers.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but if it were mine, I wouldn’t consider fixing it – the VX 2000 was a wonderful camera, but its already several years since its been discontinued.

My feeling is that your repair will be expensive, and when all is said and done you’ll have a used camera with technology dating back 7 years.

I would replace it with one of the HDV cameras.
