September 7, 2010 at 4:54 pmThis sounds very strange.
What codec is your source video? Are you sending your sequence directly from FCP? Have you tried transcoding to ProRes before going to MPEG-2? You can do this with “Job Chaining” in Compressor, like described here: https://documentation.apple.com/en/compressor/usermanual/chapter_8_section_3.html
Have you tried actually making a Droplet with your desired settings, and dropping your video file onto the Droplet?
If none of these steps help, I would try a reinstall of Compressor: https://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/how_to_reinstall_compressor_and_qmaster.html

Yep. same way I’ve always done it.<>
Haven’t tried this yet. I will test this however. Thank You!

No but I did try placing the droplet of the encoded file into the DVDSP sequence (track) and it worked!
By the way, when examening this droplet, apple+I, the file size seemed appropriate, approx 2.7gb. Its just confusing why a droplet appears and not the usual mpeg2 file. When I click on the droplet, it starts asking for web or network access (I’ve forgotten which). -

September 7, 2010 at 6:06 pmAre you sure it is definitely a droplet and not simply a file that OS X has assigned the wrong icon by mistake? It may be a movie file OS X is trying to open in an existing droplet elsewhere on the drive. If it is truly a droplet you should be able to ctrl-click it and select Show Package Contents to see inside it.

September 8, 2010 at 1:49 pmI think you are right Jon.
From what you wrote Hal Beery, it sounds like the file just have the wrong icon. Have you checked what application is set to open .m2v files on your system?
Get Info on that file Compressor made, and see what application is set to open .m2v files. I would recommend setting it to MPEG Streamclip if you have that installed.
